To kill a mockingbird websearch

Part A

Hi Judy
How are you? Do you have any news? Sorry I have taken so long to reply to you least message, with it being the depression and all. I guess I just haven’t had much time. Yeah my family is going good, and yours? My father is now a gainfully employed lawyer and he looks after how we spend out money as he is the one who earned it, which I guess is fair. Everyone one up here as a maid or two as well. My mum stays at home and we have a cook and nurse to help her out. We also have a gardener that looks after our flowers and grass. We own our own land and we bring in income fro out crops, our family is doing quite well now as we don’t have to pay much tax on our land either.
I enjoy being where I live, I have a lot to do. I usually play jump rope or play with jacks; I am in scouts and love playing tackle football with my best friend. I even built a fort with him; we have a lot of fun. For Christmas my mum got me a few dolls, but I like what all my guy friends got, toy trains and trucks, we used my dolls to reenact a mugging!
It can be hard to play with them sometime though; mum gets mad at me for getting my clothes dirty. She told us that we could never wear blue jeans as they were too tacky and we could never walk around barefoot. Also we were told we could never fight like boys, although that never stopped me hitting a few of them. We are told to not raise our voices and to never say “shut up”, we must always have correct grammar. In the afternoons we got dressed up to go to town or the park, but for some reason we were never allowed to talk to the other black children there. We always have to look our best, my dad just bought me and my sister handmade dresses from New York just the other day, they’re very pretty, I love wearing them.
My friends are mostly boys, I’ve never seen why this was a problem but mum thinks I should be spending more time making girl friends and going to tea parties or like she says “being a lady” .

Anyways, that’s all I can think of telling you
I hope to see you soon,
Makede.

Reading Reflection

This week I've been reading the book Covet. Its taken me a while to choose a book because I don't really enjoy reading but so far I've found this one pretty interesting. I have read the other two books before this and am looking foward to reading what happens :)
